Kara Caputo, our Founder and Chocolatier, has worked as a culinary professional for nearly 30 years. She has trained with the best and served some of the most exacting guests in fine dining restaurants and on private yachts. Early in her career after graduating from culinary school, Kara served an apprenticeship in chocolate and French pastry under Master Pastry Chef Alfred Schilling. Later, she earned national recognition as a pastry chef in San Francisco. Kara then partnered with Pastry Chef Donna Meadows and was entrusted with production management in Donna's commercial pastry shop for a number of years before taking the opportunity (and challenge) to work as a chef on private yachts. After 16 years cooking and provisioning for yacht guests worldwide, Kara settled in California wine country. Now anchored in Sonoma’s Valley of the Moon, she is excited to be applying her experience and talents to creating customized chocolates.
